We Focus on the Health
We talk at the beginning and end of each session, but most of the time is typically devoted to hands-on work. Each session is 90 minutes and has three parts: initial check-in, hands-on work, and ending check-in.
NOTE: In contrast to other forms of bodywork, you will be clothed for the session, removing only your shoes.
Initial Check-in
I talk with you about why you have come for a session. I want to hear what you want assistance with. I invite you to share what is working well and what is challenging. This is your time. You deserve to be heard fully and without judgment.
Hands-on Work
I usually begin by gently placing my hands on your ankles or feet. This helps you relax and enables you to get comfortable with my contact. From there, I often move to the sacrum, shoulders, neck, or head. Regardless of where I place my hands, my contact is gentle and my intention is one of listening to what your body has to tell me and to the Health that is always present.
Ending Check-in
I check in with you again after you get off the table to answer questions, offer additional tools if appropriate, hear more about your experience of the session, and assess the effects of the hands-on work.
